A clinician recently asked me a fair question: “Do I need to be religious or Christian to join My Wellness Wallet?”
My answer was simple: Absolutely not.
For too long, mental health spaces have pushed two extremes: pushing rigid rules on one side, or an awkward silence on the other that pretends a person’s spiritual life doesn’t exist.
We refuse both.
At My Wellness Wallet, being faith-informed is simply clinical humility. We integrate the B-Well Model (Jones et al., 2023) because we see people as whole human beings: mind, body, and spirit.
What does this actually look like in the therapy room?
It looks like open, faith-sensitive exploration (when invited by the client) paired with the clinical tools, training and maturity required to navigate it effectively. A client always has total autonomy to decline, and that choice is fully respected. But pretending someone’s values, faith, or search for meaning doesn’t exist simply isn’t the way to offer whole-person care.
We’re curating an intentional community of providers ready to accept the Therapy Care Card and offer dignified, whole-person care. Visit mywellnesswallet.com to apply as a provider, or DM me with any questions about joining.
